Ropak to Appeal Ruling in Patent Case: Ropak Corp. said it will appeal a recent federal court decision enjoining it from the manufacture, distribution and sale of its collapsible bulk bins. The ruling, made by a federal judge in Detroit, stems from claims of patent infringement by Xytec Plastics Inc. Fullerton-based Ropak also said it would seek a stay of the injunction. William H. Roper, chairman and chief executive of the Fullerton company, said, “Based on the opinion of counsel that reversible errors are contained within this lower court ruling, I am confident that Ropak will prevail in this matter.�
