In other Division I-A games:
Capistrano Valley 52, Ocean View 51--Alisa Farr made a three-point basket with four seconds remaining in overtime as the host Cougars advanced to the second round.
Farr, who scored all of the Cougars’ overtime points, finished with a game-high 28 points, 21 in the second half.
With the score tied, 45-45, at the end of regulation, the Seahawks (14-13) opened the extra period with two quick baskets, and led, 51-49, with 30 seconds to play. But the Cougars (17-6) got the ball back on a turnover with 10 seconds to play. Farr drove the length of the court and made the winning shot.
Ocean View led, 42-31 with 5:50 to play after two Theresa Martini free throws. But Farr and Anne Montero helped fuel a 14-3 run to tie the score at the end of regulation.
Despite a 37-24 rebounding edge, Ocean View had problems maintaining possession, committing 24 turnovers in the game. The Seahawks were led by Martini’s 16 points and 13 rebounds. Nikki Vivion scored eight points.
Capistrano Valley will play the winner of the Temecula/San Gorgonio game at a site to be determined.
