Baker on U.S. Rebuilding Iraq After War
How wonderful to learn that following the war we will rebuild Iraq.
Soon we will have Iraqi TVs, Iraqi VCRs and Iraqi cars, which we will buy like crazy. We will be able to sing, “Iraq, we love what you do for us.â€
Iraq will put restrictions on American-made goods but we will not retaliate as that would be protectionism.
We will help them write a constitution that will prohibit them from having a military and thus we can defend them with our troops.
Aug. 2 will be barely remembered, but we will have a national day of mourning to remember and punish ourselves for bombing Baghdad. Finally, Congress will vote reparations to any Arab interviewed by the FBI.
I can hardly wait.
