Hubert M. Blalock Jr., 64, an authority on race and ethnic relations and statistical research methods. A professor of sociology at the University of Washington from 1971 until 1989, Blalock wrote 11 books and 75 scholarly articles, including the well-known textbook “Social Statistics.” On Feb. 8 in Seattle of cancer.
