To Be in L.A. Is to Be in Pictures

Los Angeles has truly become a motion-picture town. Recently I was walking down Wilshire Boulevard, in a group of 10 pedestrians, while a movie was being shot. All of a sudden, a disembodied voice shouted out, “Rolling!†As one body, the 10 of us stopped dead in our tracks.

There we stood for one minute . . . two minutes . . . three. Once again, the voice out of the blue gave its order, “Cut!†As if on cue, all 10 continued on their way.

The citizens of Los Angeles have certainly been well-trained.
