Covina : Dial-A-Ride Rules Change
Complaints from elderly and handicapped residents persuaded the city and its Dial-A-Ride contractor to change some rules that restricted travel.
Riders will now be dropped off in county pockets within city limits and will be allowed to go to the Social Security office and Cortez Park Senior Center, both in West Covina.
The council unanimously approved the changes on Tuesday, six months after hiring Medi-Ride Inc. The old rules allowed riders to travel up to five miles outside the city for medical appointments only, although routes include Eastland Center shopping mall in West Covina.
