American General Corp.: The financial services corporation announced fourth-quarter net income of $105.4 million for 1990, up 26% from the year-ago period on revenue of $1.6 billion, up 6%. Net income for 1990 was $561.6 million, an increase of 21%, on revenue of $6.4 billion, a 7% increase. The Houston-based company said the figures represent improved performance, particularly in consumer finance and real estate earnings, which together were up 24%, and corporate operations, which earned $14 million, contrasted with a $92-million charge the year before.
