Felony criminal charges were filed in Beverly Hills on Tuesday against a Monterey Park man accused of participating in an aborted follow-home robbery attempt that ended in the shooting death of a companion by a reserve police officer.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Allan Tyson said Tony Susilo, 24, was charged with attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon in the attempted holdup of Justin Feffer, 21, a Montebello Police Department reservist and son of a Los Angeles Superior Court judge. Susilo was arrested Feb. 2 outside the home of Judge Irving S. Feffer after Justin Feffer had shot and killed Jessie Khoe, 22, of Redlands. According to authorities, Khoe had charged the younger Feffer with an assault rifle and the reserve officer shot him with a revolver.

Police said the driver of a car that followed Feffer home drove away after the shooting, then returned briefly before leaving the scene. Officers stopped the car a few blocks away, and Susilo was arrested.
