‘Night Music’ Changes: Because of the physical demands of performing in a musical, actress Lee Remick, who has been battling kidney cancer, has decided not to appear in the Stephen Sondheim musical “A Little Night Music” at the Doolittle Theatre in April. Although her health has improved greatly since her surgery last year and her physical therapy progresses, she believes that “the quality of her work would suffer,” according to a statement by producing director Gordon Davidson. Davidson said he considered postponing the production, hoping that Remick, 55, would be able to perform, but has decided to re-cast the role so as not to disappoint subscribers.
