Pratt’s Vote
It is interesting to hear San Diego City Councilman Wes Pratt say in reference to his support in establishing a human relations commission, “People still haven’t learned to live together as a society. And people still haven’t learned to appreciate people of color and different ethnic backgrounds.”
On that same day, Mr. Pratt voted to give $8,000 of city funds to a group dedicated to portraying Christopher Columbus as Attila the Hun as part of a phony art exhibit and to delete Columbus Day from a list of nonenforced parking meter days to add Martin Luther King’s birthday.
In view of Pratt’s voting record, it is clear that his own appreciation of other ethnic backgrounds is what needs to be learned.
