SAN DIEGO — San Diego High defeated Crawford, 84-31 in a City Central League game Friday, a day after CIF Commissioner Kendall Webb ruled it would have to forfeit all 13 of its previous victories.
San Diego was 13-3 until Webb ruled it had violated CIF Rule 215, which states that a player who moves within the district of a school after beginning the ninth grade is only eligible if both parents move with him.
John McKenna, a part-time player who San Diego Coach Dennis Kane said lives with his father in the downtown area, has been declared ineligible under the rule. Kane said San Diego High has hired an attorney and will fight the decision in court.
