Couple Charged With 20 Slum Violations
A couple was charged Thursday with 20 violations of various city codes for maintaining slum conditions at a Central City hotel they own.
Robert K. Swan, 60, and his wife, Konstanza, 56, of Pasadena face a pending arraignment in Los Angeles Municipal Court.
Deputy City Atty. Richard Bobb said the misdemeanor charges stem from sub-standard conditions at their four-story, 68-room hotel at 560 S. Gladys Ave.
Alleged code violations included defective plumbing and electrical systems, broken windows and smoke detectors, cockroach infestation and accumulated garbage, Bobb said.
