OAK PARK : Sanitation District Delays Cityhood Bid
The Triunfo County Sanitation District tabled action Monday on a cityhood request for Oak Park because it lacked information on whether the unincorporated area near Thousand Oaks could afford to operate independently.
Instead, Ron Stark, director of the district’s five-member board, will ask the Oak Park municipal advisory council today to begin a study of the community’s fiscal resources.
Stark is also a member of the Oak Park council.
If the advisory council study shows that Oak Park could operate as a city, the Triunfo district could file a cityhood request, which would speed up the incorporation process.
A second method of filing for cityhood involves submitting petitions from community residents.
