NATION : East Feels the Touch of Winter
Rain soaked parts of Pennsylvania and Ohio early today, New York got both rain and snow and most of the rest of the East Coast was blanketed by clouds or fog as a winter storm continued.
Heavy snow was forecast later today for the mountains of New England and parts of the Great Lakes region.
Much of the Midwest was also cloudy and cool, and snow fell on parts of Iowa early today.
Skies were generally clear and weather conditions more pleasant in the South and West, although rain was falling on Oregon early today and heavy snow was forecast for the mountains of Arizona.
