2 Teen-Agers Die, 2 Hurt as Car Overturns
Two teen-agers were killed and two others injured when their speeding vehicle flipped over on a road in Acton on Monday night, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Brenda Schoonover, 15, of Palmdale and Kevin Kirst, 17, of Tujunga were pronounced dead at the scene, said Eugene McDonald, spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The teen-agers were traveling west on Mt. Emma Road near Angeles Forest Highway “at a high rate of speed†when the driver lost control and the vehicle flipped over, ejecting three of the four passengers, CHP Officer Harold Daily said.
Two other teen-agers, Erin Beach and Hoon Young, were treated at a local hospital, authorities said.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
