Calabasas Company Seeks Riverboat Casino License
Players International Inc. said it applied for a license to operate a riverboat casino on the banks of the Ohio River in southern Illinois.
Players, a Calabasas-based provider of gaming memberships and other entertainment and travel services, said it applied for a 1992 license with the Illinois Gaming Board. The board is expected to rule on the application this spring, Players said.
The company said it wants to operate the riverboat casino out of Metropolis, Ill., and that, if granted the license, it would be able to draw customers from five nearby Southern states.
