AT&T; Settles Switching Suit: American Telephone & Telegraph said it has settled a lawsuit that it filed against International Telecharge Inc. of Dallas. AT&T; had alleged that long-distance service at public telephones had been switched from AT&T; to International Telecharge and to another company, National Telephone Services Inc. of Rockville, Md., without the knowledge or consent of the owners of premises where the phones are located. The settlement agreement includes corrective measures to address unauthorized switching and includes payment by International Telecharge of an undisclosed amount to AT&T.; AT&T;’s claims against National Telephone were not affected.
