Supervisors Give Digre Unanimous Backing
Three weeks after the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors split 3-2 on a vote to hire Peter Digre as the county’s director of children’s services, the board has switched its vote to unanimous in a show of support for the new department chief. Digre started work last week.
Supervisor Ed Edelman, backed by Supervisor Kenneth Hahn, led the opposition against Digre, citing reports that he is hard to work for. On Tuesday, Edelman asked the board to switch his vote. Hahn concurred.
“They met with Digre and they want to express their support,†said Edelman’s spokesman, Joel Bellman. “I think everybody’s interested in mending fences and moving forward.â€
