Gahr Favored to Win Brea-Olinda Tournament
Gahr High School, featuring high-scoring forward Brandon Titus, is the favorite to win the Brea-Olinda basketball tournament beginning today in Brea-Olinda’s gymnasium.
The top first-round game matches Sunny Hills against Whittier Christian at 8:15. Sunny Hills is favored to win the Freeway League and Whittier Christian is favored to win the Olympic League.
Four games are scheduled today and four other first-round games are scheduled Wednesday. The championship game is set for 8:30 p.m. Dec. 29.
The first-round pairings:
Today: 3 p.m.--St. Anthony vs. Sonora; 4:45--St. John Bosco vs. Gahr; 6:30--La Mirada vs. Centennial; 8:15--Sunny Hills vs. Whittier Christian.
Wednesday: 3 p.m.--Rancho Buena Vista vs. Compton; 4:45--Montclair vs. El Dorado; 6:30--Fallbrook vs. La Habra; 8:15--Los Altos vs. Brea-Olinda.
