Pasadena : Suit Over Police Building
The city filed a $5-million lawsuit Monday against Kitchell CEM Inc. and Vanir Construction Management Inc.
The two firms oversaw construction of the new $23.5-million police building, which was estimated to cost $17 million. The building was completed in June. The lawsuit blames the overruns on mismanagement by the two companies.
The city hired construction litigation attorney Kenneth C. Gibbs of Gibbs, Giden, Locher & Fleming to handle the suit.
Officials of the construction firms could not be reached for comment.
