WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Long Beach Loses in Overtime

Kim Pehlke scored 21 points to lead Western Kentucky to an 83-79 overtime victory Sunday over No. 11 Cal State Long Beach at Bowling Green, Ky.
Western (8-1) led throughout the overtime and took a 77-71 lead on Kim Norman’s layup with 2:56 left.
Long Beach (5-2) closed to within 77-76 after four consecutive points by Trise Jackson, who finished with 15.
But the Lady Toppers had two one-and-one free throw opportunities in the final 16 seconds and made all four shots to seal the victory.
No. 10 Tennessee 113, UCLA 86--Dena Head scored 19 points, and seven teammates scored in double figures as the Lady Volunteers beat the Bruins, 113-86, at Knoxville, Tenn.
Tennessee (5-2) outscored UCLA, 20-6, in the final eight minutes of the half. The Volunteers led, 54-30, at halftime.
Rehema Stephens’ career-best 37 points for UCLA (3-4).
UCLA Coach Billie Moore did not make the trip to Knoxville because her mother is seriously ill.
