PRO FOOTBALL REPORT / WEEKDAY UPDATE : RAMS : Green to Start Against 49ers
As he hinted earlier in the week, Coach John Robinson has decided to start tailback Gaston Green on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers in order to take some of the pressure off Cleveland Gary, who has fumbled 11 times this season.
“We’re going to play Cleveland a lot in the game,†Robinson said Thursday. “Just want to try to take some of the pressure off, some of the focus.â€
All-Pro safety Ronnie Lott is listed as doubtful for Monday night’s game with an injured knee.
San Francisco also put strong safety Chet Brooks (knee) on injured reserve Thursday.
