MISSION VIEJO : College Board Elects Biologist President
Marcia Milchiker has been elected president of the Saddleback Community College District Board of Trustees, replacing Joan J. Hueter.
Milchiker, a Laguna Hills research biologist, was elected this week during a secret ballot at the board’s annual organizational meeting. She was vice president during the past year.
It is the first time that Milchiker, who has been a trustee since 1985, has been president of the eight-member board. The president conducts the board’s meetings, appoints committees and represents the board at various on- and off-campus functions.
Milchiker said a focus of her term will be the search for a third campus site in the district, in addition to Saddleback and Irvine Valley colleges.
Trustee Robert L. Moore was elected vice president, and Hueter was elected clerk.
