SEAL BEACH : Blinder Racks Voted for Sex Publications
The City Council has passed a law requiring merchants to cover the lower two-thirds of all sexually explicit materials.
The law passed 4 to 0 and will be in effect in 30 days. Violation is a misdemeanor.
Councilwoman Marilyn Bruce Hastings said the ordinance was prompted by complaints from residents about sexually explicit magazines at liquor stores and easily visible videos.
Other cities in Orange County have passed similar ordinances.
