Mater Dei 82, Rancho Buena Vista 69--Darryl Parker scored 28 points, but top-ranked RBV (0-2) lost its second game in a row. Brad Grubaugh added 20 for RBV, which played a highly ranked team from Orange County for the second consecutive night. Mater Dei, which led RBV by only seven with two minutes left, is ranked fourth. Huntington Marina, which beat RBV, 84-59 Thursday, is ranked third. Parker and Marina center Cherokee Parks had 30 points apiece.

Vista Tournament

Mission Bay 72, Rancho Bernardo 57--Rick Moe scored 17, Chris Smith 16, Wyatt Spencer 13 and John Price 10 for Mission Bay. Rancho Bernardo (1-2) got 17 from David Santos, 12 from Greg Hanson and 11 from Bill McMahon.

Oceanside 67, Orange Glen 54--Carl Mathis scored 29 points to lead Oceanside. Brian Scofield scored 24 for Orange Glen.

Vista 78, El Capitan 67--Jason Barnes scored 20 points led Vista with 20 points. El Capitan’s Chris Peace led all scorers with 21.

Canyon Springs 49, Carlsbad 46--Calvin Coleman scored 13 points and Chad Nelson added 11 for Carlsbad.

Grossmont Tournament

San Pasqual 86, Clairemont 59--Erik Meek scored 31 points and had 13 rebounds to lead San Pasqual (2-0). The Eagles also got 24 from Richard Stark.

Elsinore Tournament

El Camino 82, Barstow 55--Senior Jeff Reeves had his second 30-point performance in two days as the Wildcats improved to 1-1 with the victory. Reeves, a 6-foot-2 guard, finished with 33 points, 29 of which came from the field. He had five three-pointers. Reeves scored 30 points in El Camino’s season-opening loss to Chaffey Thursday. Shaun Scurry added 14 for the Wildcats. Jason Leslie led Barstow with 17.

Elsinore 71, Ramona 61--Elsinore secured the victory by outscoring the Bulldogs, 21-14, in the fourth quarter. Travis Knight, Ramona’s 6-10 junior center, led all scorers with 25 points, while Alfonso De La Nuez had 22. Matt Lessner led Elsinore with 18. Ramona dropped to 2-1.

Hilltop Tournament

Chula Vista 71, Point Loma 55--Shane Howell scored 22, Jerome Green 17 and Ken McCluffy 15 to lead the Spartans (3-1). Point Loma (0-4) got 21 points from Eddie Greer. Chula Vista outscored the Pointers 32-3 from the free-throw line.

Sweetwater 84, La Jolla 47--Melvin Rushing led all scorers with 22 points and teammate Pateos Woodson added 19 for Sweetwater (4-1). Sweetwater led by just seven at halftime (28-21) by outscored La Jolla, 32-15, in the third quarter to lead, 60-36, going into the final quarter.

Mira Mesa 66, Bonita Vista 59--The Marauders overcame a 31-23 halftime deficit and outscored the Barons, 24-15, in the fourth quarter behind 19 points by forward Ryan Cunningham. Mira Mesa improved to 2-2, while Bonita Vista dropped to 3-1 but is headed for today’s championship game. The Barons’ Mike Barnett led all scorers with 26.

Kearny 58, Hilltop 48--The Komets outscored the hosts, 30-14, during the second and third periods and improved to 3-1. Guard Chris White had a game-high 20 points for Hilltop (2-2). Ali Nayab led Kearny with 15.

Laguna Beach Invitational

Fallbrook 73, Brea Olinda 63--Chris Miller scored 26 and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Fallbrook (2-1), which plays today in the fifth-place game in the Laguna Beach Invitational. Bob Nolan scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half, and Alan Chatman scored 11.

Torrey Pines Tournament

USDHS 104, Ipswich (I) (Australia) 42--Dons junior forward Ian Hamilton led all scorers with 23 points. Guard Eric Barajas added 18, as USDHS (2-0) outscored Ipswich, 34-14, in the first quarter then went to the bench.

Torrey Pines 113, Ipswich (II) (Australia) 36--Junior Geoff Criqui came off the bench to score 23 points, 17 of those in the second quarter for Torrey Pines (2-0) to take a 58-21 halftime lead. Dan Reynaga added 18 points and John Martin added 12 for Torrey Pines.

Coca-Cola Small Schools Tournament

Christian 52, Cypress Brethren 51--In a rematch of last year’s Division V state quarterfinal match, Jeff Rose hit a three-point basket at the buzzer, his fifth of the night, to give Christian (5-0) the victory. Rose finished with 17 points. Chad Degrenier scored 19 for Christian.

Bishop’s 72, Anderson Valley 60--Justin Bloom scored 16 and Steve Runyan 15 for Bishop’s (5-1), which trailed by two at halftime. Anderson Valley is 6-2.

Santa Fe Christian 85, Lutheran 49--Andy Strader scored 21 and Arran Huckstep 14 for Santa Fe Christian. Lutheran was led by Paul Sellke’s 20 points and David Hooper’s 17.

Julian 58, Frances Parker 56--Dan Geer scored 31 points for Julian.

La Jolla Country Day 84, St. Gregory 66--Jason Boyle scored 24 points to lead LJCD. LJCD’s Josh Tepper added 21 points and seven assists and Garron Shultz scored eight points and had 14 rebounds. La Jolla Country Day led, 44-31, at halftime.
