In the Valencia boys’ tournament:
Servite 59, Westminster 48--Servite used a stifling man-to-man defense to defeat undersized Westminster, 59-48, for the championship of the Valencia tournament at Valencia High.
Adam Anderson, the only returning starter from Servite’s Division III state champion team, led the Friars (4-0) with 19 points. Anderson, a swingman, added eight steals and was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
Guard Matt Kenney scored 16 for Servite and center Ryan Dodd added 10.
Westminster is 2-2.
Esperanza 81, Cypress 48--Forward Joe Foss scored a tournament-high 36 points to pace the Aztecs in the third-place game.
Katella 82, La Habra 60--The Knights were led by Kevin Carlson’s 22 points in the consolation championship.
Valencia 80, Santa Ana 77--Santa Ana’s furious rally--it outscored Valencia, 35-22, in the fourth quarter--fell short and Valencia won the fifth-place game. The Saints are 1-2.
