In the Laguna Beach boys’ basketball tournament:

Pacifica 83, Whittier 67--Kevin Gaughen scored 29 points, Larry Nagata 22 and Scott Lesser 18 to lead Pacifica in a second-round consolation-bracket game.

Savanna 65, Chino 52--Jeremy Lyche scored 20 points to lead Savanna in a consolation-bracket game.

St. John Bosco 68, Santa Margarita 59--Dashon Quiette scored 20 points to lead St. John Bosco. Santa Margarita was led by Mike Carpenter’s 17 points.

Warren 53, Fountain Valley 52 (OT)--Forward Daryl Joyner hit a three-point shot with four second left in overtime to lead the Bears in the second-round consolation game. Barrett Hoggan had 20 for Fountain Valley.

Lynwood 70, Brea-Olinda 57--Lynwood built a nine-point lead in the first period and never looked back, despite 31 points for Brea-Olinda’s Doug Yeo.

In the Garden Grove tournament:

Bolsa 79, Santa Ana Valley 67--Sy Sayarath scored 21 points to lead Bolsa. Robert Fierro had 17 for the winners and Vince Mitchell added 15. Leo Maldonado had 22 for Santa Ana Valley.

Garden Grove 58, Fullerton 57--The two teams traded off fouling one another in the final minute, with Garden Grove’s Brandon Hoalton hitting all eight of his free-throw attempts down the stretch to lead the Argonauts.

In the Gahr tournament in Cerritos:

Sunny Hills 96, L.A. Banning 77--Davis Ragsdale’s 28 points led a balanced attach as Sunny Hills offset a 53-point performance by Banning’s Jabari Anderson.

In the San Diego small schools’ tournament in La Jolla:

Brethren Christian 60, San Diego Lutheran 36--Chiron Hart with 12 points and Tim Osborn with 10 led a balanced Brethren attack in the Warriors’ opening game of the season.
