Inglewood Renames Sentinel Field
The Inglewood school board renamed the district’s main football field Caroline Coleman Stadium to honor the former school board president who died in office last year.
Coleman, a 10-year veteran of the board, was praised at the meeting for working “diligently in the best interest of the community of Inglewood and the Inglewood Unified School District.â€
The lone dissenting vote was cast by Zyra McCloud, who explained that Coleman was one of her main adversaries when McCloud was a parent activist seeking change in the district. The field had been called Sentinel Field.
