Image Blames Shipping Delay for Quarterly Loss
- Share via
Image Entertainment Inc., a Chatsworth distributor of movies and other entertainment recorded on laser discs, reported a $624,577 loss for its fiscal second quarter that ended Sept. 30, compared with a $218,945 loss a year earlier.
The latest loss came despite a 59% increase in Image’s revenue, to $9.52 million from $5.98 million. Results would have been better, the company said, but for a shipping delay that caused about $1.9 million in sales to be pushed from Image’s second quarter to its third, which ends Dec. 31.
For the first half of its fiscal year, Image lost $512,717 compared to a loss of $313,569 a year earlier. Its six-month revenue jumped 85% to $19.7 million from $10.7 million.
