Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies and federal drug agents discovered 6,000 marijuana plants and an intricate irrigation system for growing the drug in a raid on a 20-acre estate in Lancaster, authorities said today.
Search warrants were served on the house on East Avenue E on Thursday night, deputies said. Drug Enforcement Administration agents and sheriff’s deputies said they were led to the farm after a raid in Phoenix on Wednesday turned up incriminating bank records.
The marijuana plants were found in a house on the estate, which was valued at $1 million, authorities said.
Several arrests were made in connection with the raid, but further information on suspects was not yet available.
