Historic Theater Saved: The Dallas theater where police arrested Lee Harvey Oswald less than two hours after President John F. Kennedy was shot has been saved from the wrecker’s ball. Last-minute contributions from film director Oliver Stone and rock musician Don Henley have enabled the Texas Theatre Society to make a $35,000 down payment and take possession of the closed movie house from United Artists. Much of Stone’s “Born on the Fourth of July” was shot in the area.
