LAGUNA NIGUEL : School Sets Record for Magazine Sales

Students at Niguel Hills Junior High School have raised a record $120,300 in just two months by selling magazine subscriptions.

Since school began in early September, the school’s 1,200 students have been asking friends and neighbors to buy the subscriptions for a minimum of $5 each. This year’s sales total is one of the highest in the nationwide program and the most the school has raised in the seven years that it has participated, Principal Jean Trygstad said.

Most of the profit will be used to buy supplies for dances, assemblies and special events.

Since schools in the Capistrano Unified District started selling the subscriptions, Niguel Hills has consistently sold more magazine subscriptions than any other junior high in the state, Trygstad said.
