Buena 27, Rio Mesa 25--Defensive back Dan Bradley preserved a two-point Buena lead with 2:58 to play by knocking down a pass on a Rio Mesa two-point conversion attempt. The conversion try followed Sal Balsano’s 35-yard touchdown run.

Mike Dexter scored on an eight-yard run with 7:53 to play to give Buena (3-4, 3-2) a 27-19 lead. Dexter also scored in the second quarter on a five-yard run. Freshman George Keiaho, who led all rushers with 21 carries for 196 yards, scored Buena’s first touchdown in the first quarter on a 15-yard run.

Buena’s Chuck Mullaney had 117 yards rushing in 17 carries as the Bulldogs gained 393 yards on the ground.
