Following are last week’s top collegiate football performances by former South Bay high school and community college players: * Richard Holt, Arizona, junior: The former Carson High defensive back had five unassisted tackles in a 35-26 upset over USC.
* Calvin Holmes, USC, junior: The former Carson defensive back returned an intercepted lateral 25 yards for a touchdown, deflected three passes and made four tackles in the Trojans’ loss.
* Fred Gatlin, Nevada Reno, sophomore: The former Carson quarterback completed 22 of 30 passes with no interceptions for 246 yards and one touchdown in a 26-14 victory over Nevada-Las Vegas.
* Jeff Cummins, Oregon, junior: The former Torrance and El Camino College defensive end had three tackles, including a sack, in a 27-7 victory over Arizona State.
* Erik Simien, Notre Dame, sophomore: The former Serra linebacker had one tackle and helped the Irish limit Miami to 118 yards rushing in a 29-20 victory.
* Greg Thomas, Colorado, junior: The former Rolling Hills defensive back had an interception and a fumble recovery in a 41-10 victory over Kansas.
* Brian Treggs, California, junior: The former Carson wide receiver had three catches for 37 yards in a 38-31 victory over UCLA.
