Wilson, Feinstein on Term Limits
Try this scenario. A top executive of a big company tells the CEO that he is taking a year off from work to look for another job because he knows he can’t go any higher than his present position. Of course, during this job-seeking time he is to continue on the company’s payroll with full salary and all the perks. Also, with the understanding that if he does not find a job during that time, he can return to his job with no loss of perks or seniority. Imagine what the response from the CEO would be.
And yet that is exactly what Wilson is telling his boss (supposedly the electorate of California) and he gets away with it. What a great system.
