Southwest 12, Pierce 0--Pierce (2-4, 2-3 in conference play) suffered its second shutout of the season as it fell in a Western State Conference game at Southwest.
Early in the second quarter, Southwest (3-3, 2-3) moved 74 yards in 10 plays, a drive that was capped when quarterback Craig Manigo tossed a six-yard scoring pass to Larry Edmonds.
Southwest took a 12-0 lead on a one-yard run by Eric Gibbs early in the third quarter.
Jesse Wallace led the Cougars with 10 carries for 71 yards.
