SAN CLEMENTE : Restaurant on Pier Allowed to Expand
A new look for the San Clemente pier was approved by the Planning Commission this week.
The 5-0 vote by the city panel will allow the Fisherman’s Restaurant to expand its current location on the pier and add two beach-level concessions. One stand will sell fast food and the other will rent beach recreation equipment.
The concession was awarded to its current operator, Hal Griffith, in 1987. Recently, the commission agreed to allow Griffith to add an oyster bar and a fish market to his restaurant.
Construction on the additional concession stands is expected to begin within a year.
