RUSTON, La. — Former Louisiana State football Coach Jerry Stovall will become the athletic director at Louisiana Tech University on Nov. 1, Tech officials announced today.
Stovall’s appointment is subject to approval of the Board of Trustees for State Colleges and Universities and is part of what officials called a major realignment of Tech’s athletic department.
Tech’s current athletic director, Paul Miller, will become athletics assistant to the president, according to the school’s sports information office.
Stovall is vice president of development at Premier Bank in Baton Rouge.
Reneau said the moves will help Tech in its efforts to join an NCAA Division I-A football conference. Tech moved into Division I-A last year, compiling a 5-4-1 record.
