Residents Say No to New Civic Center

Villa Park’s residents have made a definite statement to their City Council. They don’t want a new civic center or an enlarged council chamber or library.
Mayor James T. Fasbender and Councilmen John Frackelton, Robert N. Helton and Harold H. Saldarini have all chosen to ignore the obvious will of the people regarding this matter since early last spring. They have continued to pursue their own and a few friends’ special interests in the civic center project.
I, and the other 89% of Villa Park residents opposed to a new civic center at Villa Park Road and Center Drive, remember well and are watching carefully.
