Mobil Is Acquiring Tucker Housewares
LEOMINSTER, Mass. — Mobil Corp. has agreed to buy the Tucker Housewares business of Hanson Industries for $185 million.
Tucker is the country’s second-biggest maker of plastic housewares. It has 800 employees in Leominster; Kingman, Ariz., and Arlington, Texas,
Mobil spokesman John Lord said the company will “absolutely not†lay off any employees. “We plan to grow the company,†he said.
The acquisition of Tucker “positions us as a major manufacturer of injection molding†products, Lord said.
