Itsallgreektome’s Owners Ask for Another Hearing

The owners of Itsallgreektome are asking the California Horse Racing Board for another hearing regarding the outcome of the Del Mar Derby.
Itsallgreektome, owned by Jheri and Steve Redding, finished second, three lengths behind Tight Spot, in the $300,000 grass race on Aug. 19, but the stewards disqualified Tight Spot for interference shortly after the start and gave the victory to Itsallgreektome. About five weeks later, the racing board, agreeing with an opinion by a hearing referee, overruled the stewards and gave Tight Spot the victory.
“We have hired legal counsel,” said Wally Dollase, who trains Itsallgreektome. “I won’t get specific, but we feel that three things happened during the first hearing that are grounds for a new hearing.”
Dollase said that the purse for the race has not been paid out. First place is worth $165,000 and second is $60,000.
