Taking off: Midway Airlines began nonstop service Monday between Chicago and Orange County and Chicago and St. Louis.
The Chicago-based airline will operate five flights daily between Midway Airport in Chicago and Lambert Field in St. Louis, and two flights daily between Midway and John Wayne Airport.
The airline also initiated nonstop service between Philadelphia International Airport, its second hub, and Las Vegas, with continuing flights from Las Vegas to Los Angeles International Airport.
The change brings to 61 the number of places Midway serves. Midway began operations on Nov. 1., 1979, with four Midwestern cities on its flight schedule.
