Suspicious Fire Guts Dance Room at School
A fire of suspicious origin gutted a dance rehearsal room in a music building at Palmdale High School on Saturday afternoon, Los Angeles County firefighters said.
The music building was unoccupied when the blaze broke out at 1:36 p.m., about 45 minutes after a dance group had practiced in the rehearsal room, Capt. Jack Ricci said. Damage to the room and its contents was estimated at $64,000.
The fire appeared to be arson, but the cause is under investigation, Ricci said.
