This year’s San Diego Marathon, to be staged Sunday, Dec. 9, beginning at 7 a.m., will be run on a new course along Pacific Coast Highway from UC San Diego to the Oceanside Pier. Organizers expect registration to exceed the 6,000 runners who participated in last year’s marathon.
SOCCER
Leo Ronces scored his third goal of the year and Toby Taitano scored his second as USD defeated host UC Irvine, 2-0. Freshman goalie Tom Tate recorded his fifth shutout. The Met Life Soccer Challenge will be Friday at 5 p.m. at USD as the Toreros (5-0-3) play host to Seattle Pacific.
Susy O’Grady scored three goals as the San Diego State women came back from a one-goal deficit to beat Cal State San Bernardino, 4-2, in overtime. Carmen Delgado forced overtime by tying the score at 2-2 in the 67th minute. SDSU is 2-2, CS San Bernardino 3-3.
