LOCAL : Man Hurt in Van Nuys Shooting
A man was wounded during what investigators believe was a drive-by shooting in Van Nuys, Los Angeles police reported today.
The 21-year-old man, whose name was not released, was shot once in the chest about 11:30 p.m. Thursday while standing on a curb at Victory Boulevard and Ethel Avenue, police said.
The victim was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center, where he was in critical but stable condition after surgery, Detective James Vojtecky said.
No arrests had been made in connection with the shooting. Police consider the shooting to be gang-related because of the method of attack.
It was not known if the victim was a member of a gang, police said.
