LOCAL : 5 Wounded in Drive-by Shooting
Five people were wounded, two critically, in a drive-by shootings today near the Memorial Coliseum, authorities said.
A sixth person was shot about 10 minutes later six blocks away, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The first shooting occurred at 12:20 p.m. at 125 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. near Woodlawn Avenue, Fire Department spokesman Pat Marek said.
He said two of the victims were reported in critical condition, while three others suffered minor injuries. One of the critically injured was taken to County-USC Medical Center.
Ten minutes later, an ambulance was sent to 43rd Street and Woodlawn, where a wounded person was taken to White Memorial Hospital for treatment.
It was not known whether the two shootings were connected.
