New Club Lines Up Local Rock Performers
Peppers Golden Bear is beginning to fill out its concert schedule with the local rock headliners that entertainment director Rick Babiracki had promised would be a regular feature at the new Huntington Beach club.
Among the higher-profile Southern California acts booked are Agent Orange, the fine rock trio that came out of Orange County’s early ‘80s punk-rock explosion; Oingo Boingo off-shoot Food For Feet; James Intveld, the former Orange County roots-rocker who ghosted Johnny Depp’s vocals in the recent film “Cry Babyâ€; and the Rave-Ups, a sharp Los Angeles pop-rock band.
Agent Orange and Rain On Fire will play Sept. 14, the Rave-Ups appear Sept. 15, and Food For Feet and Lock-Up play Sept. 19. Intveld shares a bill with Jamie James & the Kingbees on Sept. 8, and the local blues duo, Brady & Siegel, has been booked to open for Koko Taylor on Sept. 9. Peppers also has added an Oct. 5 jazz-fusion guitar double bill with the John McLaughlin Trio and the Steve Morse Band.
