ORANGE : Breakfast to Mark the New School Year
School administrators and board members of the Orange Unified School District will flip flapjacks and fry sausage for 1,200 teachers this morning on the front lawn of the district offices on Glassell Street.
The hearty back-to-school breakfast signals the beginning of the new term, district spokeswoman Gail Wayne said.
“You have to start the school year with a good breakfast,†Wayne said. Staff will begin the 1990-91 school year today. Students return Tuesday.
After breakfast, the teachers will hear a brief welcoming address by the new district superintendent, Norman C. Guith, and return to their schools for staff meetings.
