FILLMORE : Council to Consider Lifting Building Ban
- Share via
The Fillmore City Council will consider lifting a 13-month-old ban on new residential developments during tonight’s meeting.
City Planning Director Mary Ann Krause said the moratorium on new projects was declared last year to let Fillmore’s planners process a backlog of applications. The ban has affected new projects that require an amendment to Fillmore’s general plan or the annexation of land into the city limits.
If the council votes to end the moratorium, new proposals could be considered after Sept. 1. Krause said two residential projects have been on hold since the ban took effect--one west of town on California 126 and another south of River Street near California 23. Both projects would require the city to annex land if they are approved.
