SHORT TAKES : McEntire, Travis to Host Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country singers Reba McEntire and Randy Travis will be hosts of the 24th annual Country Music Assn. Awards at the Grand Ole Opry.
The two-hour show Oct. 8 will be televised on CBS, starting at 8 p.m.
McEntire, a Grammy winner and 1986 CMA Entertainer of the Year, is known for such hits as “Whoever’s In New England” and “The Last One To Know.”
Travis has won the CMA newcomer award and two Grammys. His hits include “Forever and Ever, Amen,” “I Told You So” and “1982.”
